I want the next Doctor to be a woman.

When I was thirteen or something I had this headcanon or perhaps fervent wish that the Doctor had a sister or daughter, and that when he reached the end of his regeneration cycle he passed on the title of “The Doctor” onto her and she carried on travelling the universe, saving lives, and being pretty sort of marvellous.

I just really liked the idea because “doctor” is a gender-neutral title, and it would be interesting to see what would happen if the Doctor were female instead of male. For example, he often goes to periods of history before the liberation of women, and bosses people about. I used to wonder how people would take that if he was a woman.
