If it was a single film that failed to cast a woman of color it wouldn’t be indictive of anything.
But it’s not a single film, it’s nearly every major film that fails to cast POC in any meaningful roles.
We can either admit Hollywood is racist or we have to pretend that actors of color don’t exist. Guess which one Hollywood would prefer.
We can’t excuse “But it’s art!” when art is routinely racist - by design or by exclusion.
